Reading Together®: Valued Outcomes

Quoting the New Zealand Ministry of Education:

Reading Together® Te Pānui Ngātahi engages parents, whānau and aiga in learning strategies to support their children's reading enjoyment, achievement, confidence and wellbeing. The programme has a strong evidence base and is high impact.

Note: The valued outcomes listed are a sample of those reported in research studies and other documents relating to the implementation of the Reading Together® programme since 1982. The outcomes of Reading Together® are remarkably consistent across participants from a wide range of educational, socio-economic and cultural/ethnic backgrounds, when the programme is implemented as intended by Workshop Leaders who have the qualities and expertise required, and who are supported by community librarians wherever possible.
