Parent Engagement and Involvement

The Office of Early Childhood Education has a webpage titled 'Parent Engagement & Involvement', available here. Quoting from this webpage:

The OECE recognises parents as the natural and first educator of their children. Our position therefore is that policy and practice must recognise this (see our About Us page).  It is important for parents to be involved and to participate in their child’s learning within the service, because what matters for child outcomes is not just what learning occurs for the child at the ECE service but the effects that participation in ECE has on children at home. The Early Reading Together® programme is one example of an effective way for ECE services to support parents and build a bridge between the home and service setting for children's learning.
