Porirua Library posted the following on 9 April 2013 on their Facebook page:
Hats off to the fabulous team at Porirua School, who launched their Reading Together programme today. They have a highly motivated bunch of parents on board, who make the future look very bright for literacy in the central city. If you get a chance to be involved with Reading Together at your own school, it is well worth your enjoyable effort.
June 2013 Update:
The Northern Courier has published an article titled 'Story and singing time rock Wellington libraries'. An extract follows:
The Porirua Library also does a lot of work with local schools, particularly in conjunction with the ... Reading Together programme.
"That is really upping our numbers too – but best of all, its upping literacy across families Porirua wide. The children's library alone served 280 children in planned programming last week – exclusive of our regular customer numbers," she says.
